Autograph ABP 2014

Two events were held at Autograph ABP in London in 2014 during the research stages for the exhibition Maud Sulter: Passion (2015), a partnership between Autograph ABP, Street Level Photoworks in Glasgow, TrAIN, the research centre for Transnational Art, Identity and Nation at the University of the Arts London, and the artist and activist Ajamu.

Passion: Celebrating Maud Sulter,  curated by Ajamu in collaboration with Centred, explored the work of Maud Sulter through the voices of spoken word artists Dorothea Smartt, Sirena Reynolds and Jay Bernard, music and projections, and a discussion chaired by Marlene Smith.

A second event showcased Maud Sulter’s art with talks by art historian Deborah Cherry and artists Ope Lori and Marcia Michael.
