Maud Sulter exhibited her photographic series Sphinx (1987) (Harris Museum and Art Gallery, Preston) at the Pavilion and at the Black Art Gallery in London. On show here was her video Sphinx, related to this series. She contributed to Testimony: Three Black Women Photographers, staged at the Pavilion and Camerawork, London,  in which she showed three collages, currently untraced. Two were reproduced in this exhibition. Also on show were materials documenting these exhibitions and events including photographs by Ingrid Pollard of Maud reading at the Pavilion. The materials by and about Maud Sulter were lent from the Estate of Maud Sulter.
